Description
Sherlock Holmes was the brilliant creation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Famous for his acute observations and ingenious deductions, Holmes attempts to solve difficult cases and pit his wits against the fiendish Moriarty.
The Bust
There are many interpretations of how Conan Doyle’s classic creation would have looked. This is an original interpretation sculpted at Modern Souvenir Co’s workshop in Bath.
Around the Base
Around the top of the base we have included 221B Baker Street, a hackney cab, violin, magnifying glass, microscope, pipe, police helmet and books.
The etch around the base reads – “THE GAME IS AFOOT!” Originally from Shakespeare’s King Henry IV, part I, Conan Doyle first used this phrase in “The Adventures of the Abbey Grange”.
Height 13cm (about 5 inches)
Theresa Hagaman (verified owner) –
It is very detailed, yet quite a bit smaller than expected. I went by the photo with the books rather than checking the specs. The back side is unfinished and flat.
